Professional Agile Leadership Essentials (PAL-E) Group Training

PAL-E is often called PAL, but it’s the same course. PAL-E (or PAL) is for leaders with people in their chain of command who work on scrum teams. Agile leaders have a unique responsibility to empower teams while holding them accountable. Leaders foster team self-organization, reinforce role clarity, and encourage effective team member collaboration. The Professional Agile Leadership (PAL-E) class guides leaders in unearthing best practices for delivering value.

Agile Leaders who oversee the Agile transformation, and agile coaches

Leaders who have direct reports on Agile teams.

Scrum Masters who want to understand the role of Agile leaders.

Product Owners who want to understand the role of Agile leaders.

This class is for:

I recently attended the PAL-E training, and I was very impressed. The training was well-organized and informative, and Mary was very knowledgeable and engaging. I learned a lot about Agile leadership and how I might apply it to my daily work. I highly recommend this training to anyone interested in learning more about Agile leadership.

Alex

Excellent training with real-life examples! This was exactly what I needed for agile transformation.

Frequently asked questions

Minimum: It’s best to have at least three class participants to encourage conversation.

Maximum:It’s best to keep the class size for PAL at 15 or fewer. This is a smaller class size recommendation than other classes. In this class, it is wonderful for leaders to share their stories and problems to allow for additional discussion.

What are the minimum and maximum class sizes?

This class is ideal for leaders with Scrum team members who report to or work directly with them. This is also an excellent experience for Scrum Masters. Scrum Masters often coach leadership in interacting with the Scrum team.

Is the PAL class the right one for me?

The PAL-E class typically runs for two days, each with approximately eight hours of instruction. Rebel Scrum offers more flexible options, including an opportunity to take the class in four half-days instead of two full days. Courses can be delivered in person or online by a live trainer.  Contact me to discuss your organization’s training needs.

How long is the PAL-E class?

No, prior experience with Agile is not required. For the best experience, read the Scrum Guide before taking the class.  If you would like to experience what it is like to be part of a Scrum team, I highly recommend the Applying Professional Scrum class.

Do you need prior Agile experience to take this class?

The certification exam has 36 questions. Participants have 60 minutes to complete the exam. A passing score of 85% is required to achieve the PAL certification. The exam is administered online, so there is no need to go to a testing center. The format is multiple-choice.

Participants who take the exam within 14 days of completing the course receive a free second try if they don’t pass it the first time. Additional retakes can be purchased as needed.

What is the PAL-E exam like?

Successful completion of the PAL course earns each participant an attempt at the globally recognized PAL exam. Participants who score 85% or more on the PAL exam receive the globally recognized Professional Agile Leadership - Essentials certification from Scrum.org.

Will I get a certification?

Are there any ongoing requirements to maintain the PAL-E certification?

No continuing education requirements, no recertification. Once you earn it, it’s yours to keep.
