Rebel Scrum is the partner we have needed
Rebel Scrum is the partner we have needed to educate us on Agile and help us make sense of how to adopt it in our Shared Services Team. I appreciate how well Mary Iqbal listens first to what we are trying to solve and then provides different possible solutions. I feel as if Mary and Rebel Scrum are true partners invested in our success as an organization.

Imagine your team transformed with training
Not sure where to get started? See what others are doing. Following are my most popular classes. Read on to learn what you can expect to get when you sign up.
Training Essentials
Is your team falling behind?
Agile and Scrum framework adoption has skyrocketed in recent years. In 2021, Agile implementation doubled across all industries studied. But is your team equipped for success? 70% of Scrum leaders have less than five years of experience. Scrum leaders with limited experience may create excessive handoffs and rules, stifling collaboration. This command-and-control leadership style limits value delivery, creates unnecessary blockades, and sinks morale.
The right training can turn your ship around. I have 20 years of experience transforming teams with training. I’d love to help you find the right training for your group. Contact Rebel Scrum to find the training approach that best fits your organization.
The Applying Professional Scrum (APS) (for individuals or groups) course is a great place to start. I recommend this class especially for groups who are new to Scrum or have never taken formal Scrum training. The APS class will teach your team the Scrum framework, from stem to stern.
APS is designed for teams who have never received rigorous formal training together. Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Scrum team members who take this class together gain a shared experience and language that enhances collaboration and effectiveness.
For group classes, I will tailor the class for your unique organization. My classes will engage your whole team with discussions and activities to improve your use of Scrum. Participants can take this class individually, but it is a fantastic experience when the team takes it together. Teams that experience the APS (for individuals or groups) course learn to speak the same language and gain a common understanding of key concepts. APS is an outstanding introductory course for your team.
Applying Professional Scrum
The Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) I and II courses are my most popular classes because they boost your Produce Owner’s impact. Your Product Owner manages your product throughout its lifecycle, from ideation to launch. PSPO I (for individuals or groups) and PSPO II (for individuals or groups) will give your Product Owner the tools and training to
-
Maximize value,
-
Define a solid product strategy, and
-
Validate assumptions with metrics.

For Scrum Masters, nothing can replace the power of a Professional Scrum Master (PSM) (for individuals or groups) course. It’s one of the most popular group classes at Rebel Scrum. This course was designed in collaboration with the co-creator of Scrum, Ken Schwaber. Participants experience the ‘why’ behind the Scrum framework. Simply put, when you know why you’re doing what you’re doing, you make better decisions. Scrum Masters will fully “get” the framework after successfully completing the PSM course. Scrum Masters who get it lead highly effective Scrum adoptions.

Supercharge your team with training
If you’re not doing Scrum the right way, you’re just wasting time. Sign up for one of my pre-scheduled classes or contact me to customize a class for your group. I’d love to help you and your team get every drop of value you can out of the Scrum Framework. Using Scrum, your team can learn to enhance collaboration, remove roadblocks, and escalate product value.
For leaders supporting Agile teams, the Professional Agile Leadership (PAL) (for individuals or group) course is a masterclass on creating organizational agility. In PAL, we’ll learn:
-
When to use Agile.
-
How to identify high performers.
-
Target ways to focus on value delivery.
In traditional teams, you tell people what to do. In Agile teams, you empower. Your leadership should take the PAL course to understand each role’s accountabilities so that the leadership can help Scrum teams grow in their roles.
Professional Agile Leadership
A workshop is not a class. It’s a guided, results-driven discussion with your team. Rebel Scrum offers transformative workshops for targeted goals. We offer five guided programs to solve common organizational problems.

“This was a great class. There were many interactive exercises and ample time for questions and answers with the instructor.”

TRIZ is a Liberating Structure so powerful that I present it in a workshop of its own. Teams walk through a series of questions:
-
How can we achieve the worst possible result? (e.g., how can we destroy this Agile transformation.)
-
Which of these things are we doing today?
-
How can we stop doing this?
In this impactful workshop, your team will pinpoint problems and the steps to address them.

Conclusion
In each of these targeted workshops, I will facilitate critical conversations to help your team problem-solve. Your team may lack alignment around key topics like who our customers are, our products, and our priorities. There is a benefit to bringing in a neutral third party to structure these conversations. Workshops help your organization get on the same page to deliver value.
In my 20 years of leading Scrum implementations and teaching teams, I’ve learned a few things. Bring my expertise in-house with consulting to target solutions for your Scrum headaches.
Do you need help with value delivery for your existing Agile teams? Or is your organization considering adopting Agile? Consulting with Rebel Scrum can help you chart a path for maximizing value delivery and improving team morale at the same time.
I have helped many organizations deliver value sooner. When you deliver projects, you bring together people with different skills. But, organizations often organize their Scrum team according to organizational hierarchies when they roll out Scrum. This may result in creating unnecessary silos. We need to figure out what we are trying to accomplish and bring together the right team to get it done.

About Me
Self-organization is one of the most powerful workshops I’ve ever done. In this workshop, I lead teams through an exercise to allow them to organize themselves into the Scrum teams best suited to deliver value for your product. Scrum team members select how many scrum teams they need, what each team will focus on, and who should be on each team. This self-determination energizes teams and ramps up productivity. Employees are no longer plodding through the day. Energized teams self-organize and work to deliver value. Empower your teams to manage their work. It pays.
Self-Organization
The Product Definition Workshop is a guided discussion with your leadership team. The goal is to define precisely what your products are. It’s a deceptively tricky question. You think you know what your products are, but when you step back and think, it’s not always obvious. For example, a website is a product. If your website is a product, you need testers, designers, developers, and content writers all working together. A lot of businesses have these responsibilities siloed out in separate teams. The result is that work must pass from team to team, creating roadblocks. Your Scrum teams need to be aligned around products. In the Product Definition workshop, define your products. Only then can we properly align your teams to deliver value.
